Recipe: Steak Deluxe

Steak Deluxe

1 sirloin steak, 2-inches thick


Salt & pepper to taste

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 small bay leaf

½ clove of garlic

1 t Worcestershire sauce

½ onion; sliced

Cut steak into serving pieces; dredge in flour. Brown in skillet in hot fat on both sides. Place steak in large casserole; season with salt and pepper. Add soup, bay leaf, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, 2/3 cup water and onion to steak drippings in skillet. Bring to a boil; cook for several minutes to blend. Pour sauce over steak; cover. Place on lowest rack of oven. Bake at 325°F for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until tender.

Yield: 6 servings
