Danish Breakfast Treats
1 stick butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 egg yolks
2 cups all purpose flour
18 oz orange marmalade or apricot preserves
3/4 cup pecans, chopped
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks. Add flour and mix with a fork until pastry consistency. Set aside 1/4 cup of this mixture. Press the remainder of this mixture on the bottom and sides of a 15x10 1/2x1 inch jelly roll pan. Spread with marmalade or preserves. Sprinkle with chopped pecans. Sprinkle the 1/4 cup pastry mix over nuts. Bake in a 325 degree oven 30 minutes or until pastry is lightly browned. Let cool 5-10 minutes and cut into squares while warm.
Yields 5 dozen
