Suppose you want to find the midpoint between 2 geographic locations. And you want to find the closest town or habitation nearest to this midpoint, then this link is the one for you. This can be useful if you are planning a trip (especially a bike or car trip and want to determine trip break points). And it is very easy to use, with options of either selecting a location after drilling down into the region, country and state; or by searching for the locations; or by entering the lattitude and longitudes.
Some possible uses for the calculator:
* You can select all cities and towns that you have lived in, then view all of those places on a map along with a marker pointing at the exact midpoint for all of those places.
* You can determine the midpoint of an airline flight between two cities. Note that the flight paths of commercial flights may vary somewhat, and may not pass directly over the true midpoint.
* Trip planning--find a central hub for places you are going to visit.
* Find a location for a convention, family reunion or other gathering that will minimize overall travel distance.
* Find a central place for a new business or facility that will serve surrounding population centers.
If you want to know the method used for calculation, it is available at this link.
