Customer Feedback :
Having recently purchased this lens, I wanted to share my opinions on it. My camera is the Sony HDR-XR520V. My biggest reason for wanting this lens was so I could fit more in the picture when I filming indoors. It works beautifully for this, I now have a lot more in the frame. The picture is clear all the way around. There is some slight barrel distortion around the edges of the picture, but it's only noticeable with straight lines, and it's very slight. I've read in places that the lens is heavy and uncomfotable to use one the camera, but I disagree. Yes, it does add some weight, not enough for me to be concerned though.

Hindi Serial - CID - Long running detective show on Sony
There have been many detective shows on TV, with some specific character based shows such as Karamchand, Byomkesh Bakshi, and others similar to these making a name for themselves. These have been shows about gifted detectives who are essentially individuals with the gift for determining motives, and deducing human action. Sony went on a different track and created a show that showcases the role of a Government agency in solving heinous and dangerous crimes. The result is the show called CID (Crime Investigation Division) of the Mumbai Police. The people in the show are dedicated, but not individually brilliant; instead they use modern science, forensics and the power of the law (interrogations, authorized searches, etc) to find clues that will help them to solve the crime.
The team is currently headed by ACP Pradyuman (Played by Shivaji Satam). A dedicated officer, he will not let anything come in his way to solve the crime, and can drive his team to solve these cases. The other 2 main detectives of the force are:
Abhijeet : Inspector Abhijeet (played by Aditya Srivastav), has been a long standing member of the show. Recently, in an episode, he was replaced by an impersonator, but by the end of the show, the reality came out.
Daya : Inspector Daya (played by Dayanand Shetty) is one of the more likable members of the show. He is a huge man, and can be quite a force in terms of subduing criminals and intimidating them.
The show does not show other policemen, assuming that when a serious crime occurs, the CID is the one called immediately to the screen (and normal citizens can directly call the CID). In addition, one shows them entering houses and intimidating people without a search warrant. After some detective work, some forensic work, the criminal is normally caught, many times, the criminal is surprised at being caught.
Cast:
Shivaji Satam ... ACP Pradyuman
Aditya Srivastav ... senior Inspector Abhijeet
Daynand Shetty ... Daya
Dinesh Phadnis ... sub-Inspector Fredericks (Freddy) Comic element in the show
Narendra Gupta ... Dr. Salunke
Vivek Mashru ... Vivek

Hindi Serial: Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao - the last week
Now, we are in the last week of 'Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao', and there are just 4 participants left in the serial. For the past several weeks, it would seem that the serial is bent to put more exposure, more fight, and more scare tactics in the show. First, the show separated the male and female participants and made them compete against each other. There were lots of fights in the show, with Akash Sehgal being the worst element in these shows. He used bad language with abandon, tried to portray all the female participants in a bad light, and considered himself superior to the others.
Anaida and Mona Wasu were the ones who fought the most with Akash, although they also fought with Chetan, and a few others on occasion. The show made participants do a lot of things that seem pretty horrible such as cooking insects, rats, and other such creatures on an open flame and then making the male and female contestants contest to see who would eat the fastest. In other contests, the participants would have to withstand time while all sorts of creepy crawlies such as rats, cockroaches, wasps, ants, scorpions, frogs, etc were raining on them, or were all around their legs, heads, or bodies. Takes a lot of courage to do that.
Many participants came and left during the course of the show, with Nigar Khan being there for very little time, Marc and Aman were there from the beginning and then were finally evicted. Kashmira Shah came for some time, did a lot of gossiping, strutted around in a bikini, and then finally left. Jay Bhanushali came in, got overawed by Akash and Chetan, and finally left. Mika came in for a short time, and so did Chitrashi. In the end, the following four are left:
Aakashdeep Saigal
Anaida
Chetan Hansraj
Mona Wasu

Sony MDR-EX300/BLK Vertical In-the-Ear Style EX Style Headphones (Black)
Despite their bulbous shape - a consequence of the sizeable, 13.5mm driver squeezed inside each one - these in-ear phones are lightweight and comfortable to wear. Their reasonable price belies their class, too. While they can't match the bone-shaking output of Sennheiser IE8s, they do not supply a decent dose of distortion-free bass, with crisp treble, making them ideal for everything from rock to hip hop to electronica.
These are an absolute steal - the best value here by far and a great alternative to the big ticket options here.
Technical Details :
* New hybrid silicone type earbuds for better sound, more comfort, and secure fit - three sizes(S, M, L).
* Carrying case
* Cord adjuster.
* Cord: 1.2m, Neck-chain type.
CUSTOMER FEEDBACK :
I have had the Sony MDR-EX-300/BLK for about 2-weeks and very happy with them. I got them at Best Buy on sale for $56. My cat chewed up my V-moda ear buds right before a long plane flight. The Sony buds had a few good reviews and I had to have my music for the flight. For ear buds they are very comfortable. I use sound reducing ear muffs to reduce the plane noise over my ear buds. This is a cheap way to get noise reduction. The problem is they are not very comfortable. I found the MDR-EX-300 did a good job of noise reduction and I did not have to use sound ear muffs.
One thing I have found with my V-moda and other ear buds I have used, the rubber piece that goes in your ear falls off easy and I have lost several. On the Sony's they have a very tight fit and will not fall off. They are actually a little hard to change for a different size - but that is better than too loose.
My ears are a little burned out with too much load Rock & Roll. But I find the sound to be very good for the price. When listening to a high quality recording they sound great. They also bring out the defect on lesser quality MP3's. They are best ear buds I have used so far. The carrying case is very well design and protects them from my cat. Highly recommended.

Best of all, the device is now as fully protected as these devices can get. I would strongly recommend this if you've just purchased the new x series!

Hindi Serials - Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao - Not very exciting
In this age of reality shows all over, Sony Entertainment Television copied another reality show appearing outside (called 'I'm a Celebrity…Get Me out of Here!') India, and setup the local equivalent called Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bacha0 (Starting from 13th July, 2009 at 10pm. Mon-Thurs at 10pm & Fri 9pm for 1 hour). The show took 10 celebrities to a jungle in Malaysia, and makes them live there without the usual comforts (and most of them are people who either needed the glamour, or who are without much work). They are forced to do tasks over there that can seem pretty horrible:
- such as being forced to spend minutes in a coffin with water coming in and 60 frogs provide company (Shweta Tiwari)
- having a glass helmet over one's head while different insects and other creepy crawlies (snakes, scorpions) are also in the same helmet (Akash)
- having to break pots to get the stars hidden inside the pots while the pots contain vile animal stuff, and so on
If they complete such tasks successfully, then they earn food.
Every contestant gets a handful of rice and some soyabean for food every three days, which is clearly not enough for survival. Therefore, they must participate in various physically challenging contests and win "food credits" for themselves and their team members. Each day, the team must nominate one participant to play in the day's contest and be the so-called bread-winner for that day.
Audiences can vote for their contestants and people have started getting nominated for eviction, with Chand Fiza Mohammed becoming evicted after losing a contest with Anaida.
Hosts:
Mini Mathur
Yudhishthir Urs aka Yudi
Contestants
Marc Robinson - Fashion Choreographer
Chetan Hansraj - Actor
Akashh Deep Saigal - Actor
Shweta Tiwari - TV Actress
Anaida - Singer
Mona Wasu - TV Actress
Aman Yatan Verma - Actor, Presenter
Palak Kaur Johal - 2nd Runner-Up in Roadies (Hell Down Under)
Fiza Chand Mohammed - Famous Personality in marriage, divorce, re-marriage case (out)
IshQ Bector - Hip-Hop Singer (out)

Iss Jungle se mujhe bachao 16 july - Shweta Tiwari looking cool and sexy
Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao contestants walk out of the show! (A reality show that has been scheduled to last for two months saw 8 of the 10 celebrities on Sony Television's Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao have walked out of the show. It seems this came after Akashdeep Saigal, a contestant on the show, performed a task called 'Fill your Face' where he had to put his face into a jar filled with snakes, meal worms and bugs. When Akashdeep returned to the camp, his face was swollen after being bitten by the bugs. The incident shook the rest of the contestants and eight of them reportedly decided to walk out of the show, and came back only after talking to the contestants)

Hindi Serial - Chittod Ki Rani Padmini Ka Johur - Historical Saga on Sony TV
From time to time, the channels make shows that deal with historical figures, such as serials on Rani Jhansi, Prithviraj Chauhan; as a part of this, there are also shows with a religious fervor such as the serials on Sai Baba. The story of Rani Padmini, and her Jauhar (self sacrifice in a fire) rather than be dishonored by Alauddin Khilji (the Sultan of Delhi) is a part of the history of India, and the tales of her beauty and valor are incredible. So, the serial takes the story of her life (read an article on Wikipedia about her story). The few reactions that I have got from people about the serial (not too many people continue to see the serial after some time) are that they expected more drama, and that the serial seemed to have very colorful costumes, but was lacking in something.
The serial is about the story of Rani Padmini and Prince Ratan Singh of Chittod. King Ratan Singh is already married to Nagmati, but falls in love with Padmini, the daughter of the king of Singhaldweep. He appeals to her parents to let him marry her, even without the permission of his parents, and they finally agree. After some drama where Padmini is kidnapped and then rescued by Ratan Singh, she enters the Chittod royal palace against the wishes of Nagmati, and has to face some rivalry from her.
Cast:
Tejaswini Lonari...Rani Padmini
Rohit Bakshi...King Ratnasen
Mukesh Rishi...Allah-ud-din Khilji

Hindi Serial - Ladies Special on Sony TV - Story of 4 different ladies
Ladies Special is a show that started fairly recently on Sony TV (premiered on May 25, 2009). It is shown on weekdays, Monday - Thursday at the prime time of 9:30 PM. The name of the serial is based on the train service only for ladies, called 'Ladies Special'. The show takes 4 ladies from different age groups, and covers their daily challenges, problems, accomplishments. It is yet another quest to make a serial that is different from all the family drama that used to dominate serials earlier.
The serial tries to take an unromantic look at life, a theme that was started with Nukkad and has been shown in several other shows; the concept is still relevant if the shows are realistic and do not drag.
The 4 ladies that are the main characters of this show are (details at this link):
1. Neena Gupta (plays Shubha Joshi). Her life gets upset when she realized that her husband (Akash Khurana) had a second wife in Pune, and she decides to leave and move into a separate flat. She had left her job and left the Ladies Special, but now needs to find a job and resume travel on the train.
2. Shilpa Tulaskar (plays Nanda Shinde). Middle aged, mid 30's. Has 2 children, including a daughter in school (15 years old). Her life in the serial is geared towards meeting the challenges in her children's life, as well as forming a wonderful husband-wife pair.
3. Ashita Dhawan (plays Bubbly Chaddha). Is Bubbly like her name, works in a private company as a receptionist, and lives a life based on EMI's and installments. Always boasting about riches she does not have, her life is getting into a trap of money repayments and money problems.
4. Payal Sarkar (plays Pooja Singh). Newly married, Pooja is in the honeymoon like period of early marriage, but her marriage to Harsh Chhaya is slowly revealing that her husband is dominating, and abusive. She slowly gathers the courage to make an independent life.
