1. The glossy LED display offers excellent color and contrast when used indoors. I was also pleasantly surprised with the excellent horizontal viewing angles. Keep in mind that once you get in a room full of light or step outdoors screen reflections could become annoying. I've used mine outside on a sunny day, and the screen is still very much legible. In fact it was much more detailed than the matte screen on my Dell D600.
All three units come with the Digital Array Mic which consists of two powerful microphones. Ambient background noises are eliminated, as well as reduced echoes for clearer voice recording. What's more, with only direct sound (within 60°) recorded, you'll obtain better voice capture. I've tested the mic with Skype, and it's loud and clear once you fine tune using the Realtek HD Audio manager. All models also include a WiFi 802.11 b/g/n adapter and 160GB 5400RPM hard drive. My 1005HA-P contains a Hitachi HTS543216L9SA00 hard drive and Atheros AR9285 wifi card. Atheros chipsets are known for excellent range and are typically less prone to connection drops. I'd like to point out that the AR9285 is only capable of 150Mbps.

2. Bought this netbook for our upcoming trip to Europe, immediately tried to install Windows 7 RC on it, worked PERFECTLY. I highly recommend buying the 2GB RAM upgrade (I went with the Amazon recommended 2GB 667mhz crucial module), best $20 you'll ever spend. All drivers installed fine on Win7, Aero is enabled, everything is very snappy. Can't wait to take this thing on the road.

1. Let me start by saying I wanted the blue one because I felt like white would be too cheap looking. White isn't my first choice for a laptop color, but i think this is passable. I decided to take the white one rather than wait around for whenever the blue one is released.
I love this machine. The day-to-day tasks are peppy and it behaves like a normal Windows XP machine. I have purchased a RAM upgrade and am waiting for my 2GB stick to arrive, but I have been using it with the 1GB installed and haven't had any issues. The main uses for this machine I see are internet, office, and other such basic tasks. However, I also maintain a couple websites and was able to install Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 and noticed no difference in performance on this machine from my powerful desktop.
The fit and finish are excellent. Keyboard keys are sturdy and snappy. The USB ports are tight, in a good way, and provide a sense of quality when you plug things in. The screen is bright, bright enough that I often dim it a notch or two due to eye fatigue (which is normally not a problem for me).

2. I really love the whole experience of owning one of these. The battery life is amazing with 7 hours and more. The experience of daily surfing on the go in style is so helpful and enjoyable. If you are on the go and have time between appointments it can really change the way you do business online. You can display products to anyone, learn Tai Chi outside or just in your mind. Just brilliant.

1. This is perfect! I bought the same brand with the smaller battery locally and decided that I preferred the longer battery time. I am getting right at 8 hours per charge. It's perfect for surfing the web, doing facebook, email, etc. I have loaded open office and my zune stuff on here so I can watch movies and listen to my music. Yeah, the keyboard is small but when you get a netbook you expect that don't you? The bluetooth is nice - I have used it a couple of times and the webcam isn't bad. The wifi picked up my home network immediately with no issues. It will be nice to travel with this little guy.

2. WOW! This ACER netbook is faster and more portable than I imagined. I retired my 7+ lbs HP laptop, and this little gem does everything- and more! It doesn't have a CD/DVD built in, but if I need to read or write to one, I can do it through my home or work network anyway. I've had it for 3 weeks and have taken it everywhere. Battery life is incredible with the newer 6 cell battery- which comes with this model no. It lasts until I'm ready to plug it in before bed, sometimes with 50% power left after being on all day.

1. I was worried about getting one as I have had a 12" laptop and was not happy with screen size. But this screen is SO bright it does not even become a issue, not to mention the 1064x600 really makes it seem bigger!
Another bonus, this baby runs 7.5 to 8 hours due to the 5800Amh 6 cell battery! Sweet. Very happy with that. I heard most were shipping with the 4400Amh 6 cell which gives your 5-6 hours. I can run this all day or two before recharge, very nice! I have to keep looking at battery indicator in dis-belief that the battery is still 75% or 50%, it just lasts forever!
This is super portable obviously, and really how laptops SHOULD be. You can put on one leg, it doesn't weigh you down when actually sitting in your lap which is nice. I have had many laptops over the years, screen sizes and this one wins hands down for price, and performance. The unit is strong heavy duty case, compared to some newer thin plastic laptops.

2. Acer made a nice mini-notebook into a better one. The screen is larger and just as bright. The keyboard is still great (for a small one). No weirdly placed right shift key placement (Asus, Lenovo, etc). The mousepad buttons are below the touchpad not along side (yeah). It is now easy to increase ram or replace the drive without entirely dismantling the unit and voiding the warranty. I have no complaints. I loved the first one, this one fixes all the criticisms of the first one. Nothing major just refinement. Someone is listening to its customers and it is Acer.

1. Zoom has responded with the H2, a scaled down version of the H4 with all of the features of the R-09 and all of the controls right where you need them. The H2 even has additional features over the R-09, but they don't get in the way. For example, there's a choice of a 90 degree recording pattern, a 120 degree recording pattern, and even a surround sound option. Samsontech has some nice video demonstrations on its website.
Recently, I got together with friends and recorded the same live acoustic music on both the Edirol R-09 and the Zoom H2. I used Adobe Audition only to normalize both tracks (that is, equalize their loudness). The first time we played them back, I thought I detected a VERY slight preference for the Edirol, with the overall opinion of the group split between the two units. The second time we played them back, my preference was for the H2, with overall opinion continuing to be split. We all agreed that the differences were so small as to be negligible if there were any at all. We were sitting in a circle with the recorders located next to each other on a mantle above and outside the group.

2. I borrowed a Zoom H4 from a friend and found it extremely frustrating to use. The owners manual was just gibberish to me. I could not make heads or tails of the instructions. It was a totally frustrating experience and I was ready to give up on making a CD, and ready to go back to making old fashioned cassette tape recordings.
I took a chance on the Zoom H2 and am not sorry. All the head aches of the H4 have been addressed with the H2. This machine is much easier to use. I'm using it to record live string music and it does a wonderful job. Sounds great! I'm not an egg head geek or a computer expert nor am I a professional sound recording engineer, and I am very comfortable using this machine. Zoom must have listened to everything people were complaining about the H4 when they designed the H2.

1. I did a lot of research before choosing the Sony DVP-FX820 and what sold me were all the great reviews. I was leaning toward a player with a larger screen, but I trusted what I read about the picture quality of this unit... and I have to say, I received it today and I am amazed. It's much better than I expected! This little dvd player has a better picture than my HD TV! And although the speaker sound is a little hollow (no real base) the volume more than makes up for it... I've heard other players- or should I say I've tried to hear other players- the volume is wonderful on this one, the sound totally acceptable via the speakers and the sound is incredible when I use my 10 yr old Sony Studio Monitor headset.

2. Have owned the original Sony DVP-FX810 and that was a good player too. I sold that and bought this one. The resolution is about twice as high as the original. Just bought this but I can tell you the screen really shines compared to every other DVD player (portable) that I've seen. I'm sure more players will have the high resolution soon. The volume is also much louder than the original.
The battery is supposed to last 6 hours at lowest brightness. With my old one which is basically this I did manage 5 hours at medium brightness so two movies should work fine before the low battery symbol shows. I wanted the red one but the sonystyle at Metreon had everyone except the red but the blue is nice too. Highly recommended.
